Cake Decorating and Sugar Artistry

Hello! My name is Laura, and I am a cake decorator and sugar artist. I have been decorating cakes for six years and have loved every minute of it! I started out by taking classes at an art shop, and have embraced every opportunity to learn new skills since. My mentor has been decorating cakes professionally for many years, and I am most thankful for every minute I get to spend with her. Now I am here to share my knowledge with you!

My passion is sugar flowers. I can sit at my table for days at a time, making pretty flowers. It is so rewarding to finish a sugar piece and see it on top of a cake. I love creating beautiful, yummy things. It always makes me smile.

2010 L'Arche Calgary Cake Walk

Every year L'Arche Calgary sponsers a cake decorating competition called the Cake Walk. Novice and professional cake decorators enter their best work into the competition. This year I did a demonstration with the Calgary Sugarcraft Guild to tell people about cake decorating. We had a great response and a really fun time. See my Cake Walk Story for more photos!
